Wantamnam
Wantamnam is a collective of young musicians from Hong Kong Island, influenced by Soul, Blues, Motown, Psychedelic Rock, Reggae, Jazz, Trip Hop, and Post-rock. Their music is dedicated to exploring different aspects of Hong Kong’s urban culture and everyday life.
In October 2023, their debut single “In the Darkness” was released to immediate acclaim, receiving strong support from independent musicians and earning high praise across the scene. The track was featured on multiple charts and year-end lists, and the band was quickly recognized as one of Hong Kong Spotify’s “2024 RADAR: Top 10 Rising Artists.”
In 2024, Wantamnam released their first EP Mukma in March, their second EP Want Am Nam in September, and the live session Ngau Tau Kok Live in December. Their music combines arrangements that move between stillness and frenzy, layered with poetic lyrics and cinematic instrumentation. Known for their powerful live performances, the band has nearly sold out every headlining show across Hong Kong and Taiwan, and has performed at major festivals including Taichung Taichill Festival, Taipei Chill Out Festival,Hong Kong Clockenflap, and West Kowloon Pop Fest.
