Arun Chitturi is a self-taught guitarist, music producer, and composer from Andhra Pradesh, India. His musical journey began at the age of fifteen, influenced by iconic rock and metal bands like Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Megadeth, and Nirvana. Over the years, he developed a dynamic playing style shaped by the sound of Tool, Creed, Linkin Park, and Breaking Benjamin. In 2008, he entered into music production, digital audio workstations (DAWs) and producing vocal and instrumental recordings.
Since 2015, he has worked as a session guitarist across diverse genres including Indian folk, pop, rock, gospel, and metal. His work also includes composing and programming music for jingles and documentaries for top-tier brands.
In 2022, he launched a hard rock musical project, The Songs of Society, with his daughter Deshna Chitturi, who was just twelve at the time. The Songs of Society blends powerful hard rock compositions with socially relevant themes, writing lyrics in regional languages like Telugu and Tamil to promote rock and metal music in native Indian cultures. The band’s songs highlight societal challenges while motivating listeners through raw, authentic storytelling.
The Songs of Society has released six singles to date, with three tracks earning placements on Spotify’s coveted editorial playlists—marking a significant milestone for an independent act with a grassroots ethos.
